Article of Warren Buffett Value Investing

Hi,
Seekingalpha's Article The "Four Filters" of Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger. Warren Buffett and his business partner Charlie Munger are two great example of value investing.

In the article Warren Buffett has talked about the Four Filters in several ways. This behavioral sequence is always similar [1]: Charlie and I look for companies that have a) a business we understand; b) favorable long-term economics; c) able and trustworthy management; and d) a sensible price tag.

These ideas sound so simple. Many people hear them at the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting in Omaha each year. The article gives more detail about the four filters in five Chapters.

Warren Buffett Acting

Hi,
CNBC's Buffett watch posted Warren Buffett Returns to Daytime TV With 'All My Children' Cameo. Warren Buffett the billionaire’s investor will be returning to daytime television with a cameo appearance on another venerable soap opera, ABC's All My Children.

Despite many years of run-ins with the authorities, CNBC were told Erica's innocent this time around. That's a relief, as we wouldn't want to see Buffett squander his hard-fought reputation for honesty by coming to the aid of a common crook.

Warren Buffett New Bond Insurance Company and Ambac

Hi,
Warren Buffett had offered to guarantee $800 billion of municipal bonds backed by MBIA Inc, Ambac Financial Group Inc and FGIC Corp, three large bond insurers back in earlier Feb.

According to Earth times Ambac Insiders Respond to Warren Buffett , Warren Buffett's bond insurance company would, for $5 billion in capital, capture a third of the municipal-insurance market. As for the insurers, the deal would steal the best part of their businesses, leaving them to deal with their heavy exposure to sub prime assets.

Ambac rejected the offer leaving everyone wondering what steps they would take to maintain their crucial AAA rating. After Ambac share price has fallen to a 52 week low and eight of the company insiders have purchased shares in their own company. Is Ambac at a bargain now?

Warren Buffett 2007 Letter to Shareholder

Hi,
CNBC's Buffett Watch Warren Buffett's Letter to Shareholders: Don't Expect Double-Digit Stock Gains Over Long Run posted some of the highlight of Warren Buffett annual letter to shareholders.

Warren Buffett points out that the Dow's annual compounded gain was 5.3 percent in the 20th century. To match that rate in the 21st century, the Dow would need to close around 2 million at the end of 2099. He warns, "Beware the glib helper who fills your head with fantasies while he fills his pockets with fees." Warren Buffett has recommended stock index mutual funds for many investors.

Warren Buffett also says that during the past year, Berkshire identified four people who could take over the separate job of managing Berkshire's investments. He says all four had “Manage substantial sums currently”,” Indicated a strong interest in coming to Berkshire if called", Are "young to middle-aged", Are "well-to-do to rich" and "Wish to work for Berkshire for reasons that go beyond compensation".

CNBC's Buffett watch also highlight thing Warren Buffett mention in his letter to shareholders. In HIGHLIGHTS FROM BUFFETT'S LETTER TO SHAREHOLDERS there are highlights of the letter.
